My 2019 Top Summer Film List


Summer is coming up and so is the blockbuster season. I thought I would compile a few of the movies I am looking forward to seeing. 


1. Avengers: The End Game
Release Date: April 25th

The Avengers: Infinity War ended with a huge cliff hanger.  Release date: April 25th

Action Film. Description: After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe.  


2. Rocketman (2019)
Release Date: May 31st.
Biography, Drama
Description: A musical fantasy about the fantastical human story of Elton John's breakthrough years. 
Director: Dexter Fletcher. Stars: Bryce Dallas Howard, Taron Egerton, Richard Madden, Jamie Bell 



3. The Hustle (2019)
Release Date May 10
Comedy. 
Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star as female scam artists. one low rent and the other high class, who team up to take down the dirty rotten men who have wronged them. 
Director: Chris Addison. Stars: Anne Hathaway, Rebel Wilson, Tim Blake Nelson, Alex Sharp. 



4. Aladdin (2019) 

Release Date May 24
Adventure, Comedy, Family 
A kindhearted Arabian street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make the deepest wishes come true. Director: Guy Ritchie. Stars: Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Alan Tudyk, Mena Massoud. 



5. Late Night (2019)
Release Date June 7
Emma Thompson stars as a late-night talk show host- the only female host on air-- who's at risk of losing her plum TV gig. She teams up with the sole female writer on her staff, played by Mindy Kaling who wrote the screenplay, in an attempt to make the show a hit once again. 


6. Men in Black: International (2019) 
Release Date: June 14
Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi

It will be weird not seeing Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. I have liked everyone of Men in Black films. 

Description: The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization. 
Director: F. Gary Gray. Stars: Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Rebecca Feguson, Liam Neeson.


7. Toy Story 4 (2019)  
Release Date June 21
Animation, Adventure, Comedy. 

I am concerned this film will be a lot like the other three Toy Story films. The trailer gives me the feeling it is but I will just have to go see it to find out.  No matter if it is the same storyline I will still enjoy it. Hopefully.

When a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy. 
Director: Josh Cooley. Stars: Jordan Peele, Patricia Arquette, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks. 


8. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) 
Release date: July 5
Action, Adventure, Comedy
Peter Parker and his friends go on summer vacation to Europe, where Peter finds himself trying to fight off a new foe, Mysterio, who as his name indicates may not be all that he appears. 
Director: Jon Watts. Stars: Zendaya, Laura Harrier, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Holland. 



9. The Lion King (2019)
Release Date: None at this moment
Animation, Adventure, Drama

Description: After the murder of his father, a young lion prince flees his kingdom only to learn the true meaning of responsibility and bravery. 
Direction: Jon Favreau. Stars: Amy Sedaris, Shadhadi Wright Joseph, Seth Rogen, Donald Glover.
