But now, confronted with and attracted to the most beautiful woman he’s ever met, Joel has to prove his sincerity and depth of character to his icy-cold employer. Can his love for God and for this woman reach out far enough to rescue her from her own mistrust and bitterness? Will he learn that life is not all play? And can they both work together to find the source of threats that seem to be coming from Starli’s past?

MY BOOK REVIEW:

Knight in Shining Apron is a fun romantic mystery. The book centers itself on domestic abuse and bullying. Starli's suffers from mental and physical abuse from her husband who has been dead for seven years. She gets hit again when P.O. Roland Stratton, her police officer brother-in-law, returns to Appleton, West Virginia stalking, threatening her and blaming her for his brother's death.

Someone has been vandalizing Starli's restaurant. Then she finds herself in need of a great chef. She hires a handsome, charming, well-known chef, Sir Joel Peterman-Blair (the knight) came from England to save the day.

A banker is in love with her. Will she find true love? Both of them starts to connect and become closer. Will she find and trust men again?

The story takes place in a small town. Carole Brown does a great job of writing out a great description of the town. We see the business rivalries. Stari is a relatable character. She so badly wants her restaurant to be a success.  We all have been bullied in some way or another. She is kind, loving, smart and loyal.  I loved all the banter between Starli and Sir Joel. She went from all business around him but is doing her best to hind her true feelings about him. You can see how much she is dealing with not trusting men. I wouldn't trust men either if I went through all the things she did with men.

This is a simple but sweet romantic mystery with lots of twists and turns. It had a nice heartwarming ending. I highly recommend this book.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
