Special Celiac Cruise Ship

As you may know, having Celiac Disease makes traveling really hard. I have always wanted to go on a cruise ship but because of being gluten-free I have to worry if there will be food I can eat. Yes there would be salad, fruit, veggies and plain meats, but you are paying a lot of money for food. I ran into an email about The Majestic Mariner of the Seas offering a special 3-day Celiac Cruise from January 17-20, 2020 departing from Orlando, Flordia (Port Canaveral) 4:00pm and arrive in Nassau Bahamas at 7:00am then depart at 9:30pm and then arrive at Perfect Day Cococay, Bahamas at 7:00am then it heads back to Orlando, Florida around 5:00pm. You can also find specials to go along with this for Disney World and Universal Studios. https://www.celiaccruise.com

On this Gluten Free Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean you will find:
  • Gluten Free menus, with the ability to order meals and dessert ahead of time in an organized, safe and efficient manner.
  • An orientation to eating “Gluten Free” once you board the ship with the executive chef explaining the ins and outs of Gluten Free dining for your cruise.
  • The chance for your family members to meet other Gluten Free friends and socialize during receptions both on and off the ship.
  • GLUTEN FREE excursions to a resort in Nassau.
  • A stress-free, relaxing vacation in the Bahamas!

Book Review On Dance of Shadows by Erica Marie Hogan

MY BOOK REVIEW

I love fantasy books. I was looking forward to reading Dance of Shadows. As I read I found I wish I read the first book of the series first.  I didn't know this was a series until I strated reading it.  I wish I knew it because it caused me to have a hard time getting into the story. I was missing alot of details.  I found the book to be very slow. It took me a while to get into the story, but it could be because I didn't read book one.

The book is full of actions and drama which keeps the readers' attention. There are so many characters. I kept getting confused on who is who. I wish they had a list of characters and their relationship to each other sort of the like the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" did.  A lot of the characters I found relatable. Each character has a mission. Battles are The story is mainly about good vs. evil.
We see battles beginning and the suspense of seeing who will survive.

Another thing I found that took me out of the story is there are instances with dialogue in a different language than English, but there is no translation.
I some way this reminds me of the Chronicle of Narnia because Erica did a fantastic way of putting biblical principals throughout the story. It isn't preachy.

You are left with a cliff hanger for Book Three.

If you are into Fantasy then this book series is for you. Young adults would really enjoy this book too.

When You Are Near by Tracie Peterson Book Review and Giveaway

ABOUT THE BOOK

After her father’s death, Lizzy Brookstone, a trick rider in the all-female Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza, wants nothing more than to quit her role as the star of the show and live a quiet life on her family’s ranch. But returning home would bring Wesley DeShazer, the ranch’s foreman and the man who broke her heart, back into her life. In addition, the Brookstones’ new manager fears that Lizzy’s departure could doom the already cash-strapped show.
Hope grows in Lizzy during a stopover at Fleming Farm. Ella Fleming not only has a natural talent for trick riding and could easily replace Lizzy, but she’s eager to join the show to flee a forced betrothal. However, while there, one of the show’s wranglers is killed in a manner Lizzy finds suspicious. And during her escape from the farm, Ella stumbles across a secret that could affect all of their lives, as well as the future of the Brookstone Extravaganza.

MY BOOK REVIEW:
Tracie Paterson takes you back to the Wild West in the 1900s and shows us what friendship and love looks like.  After Lizzy's, 28-year-old,  father passed away, she and her mother promised him they would keep running the Brookstone WIld West Extravaganza for the rest of the year. She finds out her father's brother, Oliver Brookstone mismanaged the finances and sold the show to Henry Adler. Henry hires his son, Jason, to help with the show. Jason finds himself attracted to Lizzy, but Lizzy is in love with Wesley Dashazer who is twice her age. Recently, Wesley's wife passed away making Lizzy think she can win his heart.  Ella Fleming turns to Lizzy for help. She ran away from her father because he wants her to marry Jefferson Spiby. He has a reputation of being a womanizer and abusive.  Mary Reichert arrives back at the Brookstone Wild West show in hopes of finding the answers on who killed her brother, August.
Lizzy, Ella and Mary become close friends.
Wil Lizzy's get her crush and be able to love again?
Will Ella end up not having to marry Jefferson?
Will Mary find the answers on the death of her father?

Peterson created a wonderful faith-filled story of life. She didn't make it preachy. Every page is a page-turner and rich historical detail. All of the rich details Peterson wrote allowed me to easily escape into Lizzy's life. You can see she did her research on the wild west, trick riding, traveling shows, the 1900s and what women had to go through at that time. This book contains many plot twists. Some of them surprised me. "When You Are Near" contains many topics one of them being the fear of losing someone or something you love and loyalty to friendships. This book contains a mixture of people and very smart women. These characters are relatable. I would highly recommend reading this book. I enjoyed all the characters, even the ones I disliked (bad guy).

I can see this book being made into a Hallmark book mini-series. This book would be a great book for a faith-based book club.

GUEST POST FROM TRACIE

Introducing…When You Are Near!
I’m excited about the new Brookstone Brides series and had so much fun researching for the various characters and locations. This is a story about a fictional Wild West show with all female performers. Prior to the rodeos we see today, the Wild West shows traveled throughout America and Europe to entertain people and give city dwellers a taste of what the American frontier was like. At least their version.
Buffalo Bill Cody was famous for his shows, which brought Native Americans and their culture into the world of people who might otherwise never have even seen an “Indian.” Pawnee Bill was another entertainer who sought to keep these shows alive.
For the fictional show in my novels, I wanted to focus on three female characters who became a part of the Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza for varying reasons. Lizzy Brookstone is the heroine in book one, When You Are Near, and as the daughter of one of the show’s owners, she has enjoyed a starring role as a trick rider.
For research, I went to Pueblo, Colorado to the ranch of Karen Vold, a famous trick rider and rodeo star. Linda Scholtz, a famed trick rider, was teaching a clinic there along with Karen at the Red Top Ranch Trick riding School.
These are two remarkable Christian trick riders who have long worked to keep the sport alive. I spent three days getting to know them and what they do and learned so much. And just to prove that we weren’t all work and no play, I thought I’d share my attempt at trick riding. What I won’t do for research!
The series will have three books, as usual, and each book will focus on a different lady and her skills. Mary is a trick shooter like Annie Oakley, and Ella is a Roman rider who stands on the backs of two horses for her part in the act. It was so interesting learning about each of these types of performers, and I hope you’ll get a chance to read all three and enjoy the stories of the Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza.
