BOOK REVIEW

Readers are taken into Ellen Williams's, a mother and wife, investigation into receiving an estate from a stranger, Del, who has a family of her own. As the investigation goes on we are taken back to her childhood memories, in 1963 that pertain to the investigation.  Ellen has gone through a lot in her childhood in the 1960s. Her mother kept lots of secrets from her.

The book contains some hard topics such as suicide, death, rape and domestic abuse.
The characters are relatable and are easy to picture. I love the layout of the book. Every other chapter takes you back to her childhood memories in 1968. The flow of the book is well done. "Bird" is a page-turner. I couldn't wait to figure out why she was given an estate from a stranger. There are many twists and turns and surprises. I highly recommend reading "Birds"!!
