Devastating News About Oliver the Kitten

Image
I would be lying if I said I am doing well. On September 6th I had to take Oliver back to the vet again He was doing so well and was thinking he might not even have  Feline Infectious Peritonitis  (FIP.)  His blood work didn't look very bad when I took him on August 29th. His WBC was low and his proteins were elevated, but for a FIP kitty, he looked very well.  My vet, Dr. Burns, couldn't see him, but they were able to fit me into another vet's schedule. Oliver hasn't lost any weight. He actually gained a pound. He is now 6.9 pounds. I thought maybe he was having fluid retaining in his belly because he seemed a little hard like when Jakie had cancer and it filled up in his belly. Dr. Miller listened to his breathing. He said there is fluid sounds on his lungs, but his stomach and intestines sound and feel fine. He decided we should do an x-ray.  I was totally fine with that.  Oliver did an amazing job.  Fifteen minutes later and Dr. Miller came back into the room

Medicine and Remedies to Cure Trixie the Kitten's Conjunctivitis Eye

Image
At the vet on Friday, July 26, 2019 Trixie came down with conjunctivitis 11 days ago. Yes, I am being a little overdramatic, but cats can lose their eye from conjunctivitis if they aren't treated in the early stages of conjunctivitis.  We bought a new butterfly toy. She had some water eye but we thought maybe the butterfly hit her eye. The next day it looked fine. Well, four days later her eye got really bad. Her right eye was swollen and had green discharge. Trixie doesn't like being petted not alone holding her and seeing what the inside of her eyes looked like.  My normal vet couldn't get her. Plus, our normal vet is around 20-30 minutes away. Trixie hates the car ride and the vet. Her anxiety is so bad she will rip her claws right off and bites the carrier so hard I worry she might pull her own teeth out of her mouth.  When we get to the vet and they take her temperature to find it 104 degrees which is really bad. This makes it hard

Orphan Five Week Old Kitten

As many of you know, I lost my best friend Jakie Punkin to cancer in May of 2018 to cancer.   Ever since then I have been struggling emotionally and physically. I just can't get out of the depression. It has been pretty bad.  Two weeks ago, I think my Grandpa from Heaven, sent me this beautiful 4-week old kitten. It was crazy how we ended up getting her.   Three weeks ago, my friend's roommate's mother found a batch of kittens behind her shed.  A couple days later she noticed the kittens disappearing.  The mother cat never came back to get this kitten so the roommate's mother brought her inside and cleaned her up. She was plastered with fleas. The roommate's mother couldn't keep it because of her dog.  My friend picked up the kitten and was going to take care of it until we could find her a foster home. In the meantime, she was bottle feeding her every 2-3 hours. My friend broke down crying because she was so exhausted.

I Lost My Best Friend

Image
Hi readers. I have been struggling with life as we speak. My rock, my baby boy, my best friend past away the end of May.  As many of you know Jakie, my baby boy was suffering from sinus cancer and a liver mass. I was really hoping I could get one more year with him. I wanted to see him turn 17 years old. We didn't make it. He did, however, live longer than the vet told us. She told me 3-4 weeks, but he lived for 23 weeks. He was doing so well in December- February, but by the end of March he cancer started taking over his right eye and his nose had a lot of discharge which had to be suctioned out 2-4 times a day. Then at the end of April, he started retaining fluid on his abdomen. The vet put him on water pills.  The vet was having me give him 2 - 1/2 tablets a day. I don't know if the water pills were killing his appetite or if the fluid plus the liver mass was causing him not to want to eat. He ate but nothing like he used to.  But because he wasn't eating much he was l
