Become a Hero by Buying a Mask ENDFIP

Image
Oliver Jakie Punkin Norton November 2019 I lost my baby Oliver from FIP. We need to find a cure. There aren't any treatments out there to get rid of FIP. I thought I would get over 15 years with my Oliver, but FIP took him away from me a lot sooner. He passed on to God at the age of 5 months.  He tried fighting it but he just couldn't win. I think about him every day wishing I would wake up and see him back to cuddling on my pillow next to me.  We need to find a cure or at least a treatment to make them have a longer quality of life with FIP. I know everyone is struggling during this time, but know if you donate money to ENDFIP Luca Fund for FIP research you will not only get a mask to protect yourself but you will also be saving animals' lives. Be a frontline hero for our pets and donate.     Here is information on how to help out:  HELP SLOW THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 BY SUPPORTING FIP RESEARCH Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a devastating

Sadness Oliver Crossed the Rainbow from FIP

6 As many of you know, I got an adorable baby boy (kitten) who ended up having so many health problems. If you don’t know I will catch you up. In May of 2017, my 16 year old cat Jakie passed away from cancer. You may not believe it or not but I have a pet communicator, Judy Ramsey. She amazing. Jakie told her he wants to come back in a year. I was so excited. Well around April 2019 I called Judy to find out if Jakie is ready to come back and he said, ”Yes.” I had to find a kitten who was around 1-4 weeks old. A friend of mine fosters orphaned baby kittens. They just got a bunch in. They sent me some pictures of them and Jakie picked the one he wanted to go in. Second time we saw him. I scheduled a time to see him. He is sooo tiny and adorable. I couldn’t wait to take him home. Finally, the end of July I got to take him home. I knew this was Jakie because Faith kept hissing at Trixie when we brought her home. When we brought Oliver aka Jakie home Faith ran over to

Devastating News About Oliver the Kitten

I would be lying if I said I am doing well. On September 6th I had to take Oliver back to the vet again He was doing so well and was thinking he might not even have  Feline Infectious Peritonitis  (FIP.)  His blood work didn't look very bad when I took him on August 29th. His WBC was low and his proteins were elevated, but for a FIP kitty, he looked very well.  My vet, Dr. Burns, couldn't see him, but they were able to fit me into another vet's schedule. Oliver hasn't lost any weight. He actually gained a pound. He is now 6.9 pounds. I thought maybe he was having fluid retaining in his belly because he seemed a little hard like when Jakie had cancer and it filled up in his belly. Dr. Miller listened to his breathing. He said there is fluid sounds on his lungs, but his stomach and intestines sound and feel fine. He decided we should do an x-ray.  I was totally fine with that.  Oliver did an amazing job.  Fifteen minutes later and Dr. Miller came back into the room

Oliver My Five Month Old Kitten Might Be Dying From A Common Respiratory Virus

My life is hitting me hard with so many negative things, but I never expected God to hit me this hard.  As you know from my previous post about my adoption of Oliver and him having to deal with severe diarrhea due to parasites and then an upper respiratory infection.  A couple of weeks ago we took him for his booster shots. After receiving the booster shots he started to sneeze a lot. We read that booster shots can cause cats to sneeze a lot, so we were blaming his sneezes on the shots.  Two weeks later, I came home from work around 5:30 pm to find him acting so strange. He wasn't his playful self. He still had an appetite. He had a little crusty stuff on his eyes. A huge red flag that something was seriously wrong was when I saw him on his perch shivering and looking very lethargic. When I petted him or pick him up he will cry in pain. Oliver loves being petted and picked up, so this was another red flag that something is seriously wrong with my boy.  My mom and I immediat

I got my Cat Jakie Punkin Back from Heaven

In May of 2018, Jakie Punkin, my 16 years old cat, passed away from cancer. He went in for his yearly teeth cleaning to getting a call saying the reason why is nose is always crusty isn't due to teeth it is due to jaw cancer. They gave him only 2 weeks to live.  I didn't believe them since they told me I would only have him for 1-3 years when we found out he had liver problems and cysts near his eyes.  I turned to the interest. I found some amazing products. and put him on Rescue Remedy for Pets, and CBD oil made for pets. I immediately went online trying to figure out how to slow cancer down. He was eating, playing and cuddling, so he wasn't in a lot of pain. I ended up calling a pet psychic Judy. She guided me through the process by telling me how he is doing. I learned he wanted to he wants to die to at home and not at the vet.  He told me he wants to come back but needs a year or so to recover after having a body that wasn't working right for a very long time

Trixie the Kitten Goes Under the Knife

My five-year-old cat got spayed yesterday. The process was very interesting.  I was debating on saving money and taking her to C-Snip because they only charged $45 and I believe that included a microchip.  My regular vet charges $125 + $21 for the microchip.  I decided to take her to my vet because if they see anything else wrong they can take care of it right there. They also were going to check her teeth, trim her nails. I was under the assumption they were going to do blood work too, but that was an added charge.  Another reason why I decided to take her to my vet to have the surgery is because I was worried that people lied about having their cats checked for FeLv, shots and if they are getting strays in they might have respiratory infections. I wanted to try to prevent my baby from catching anything. I dropped her off at 8:30am. Signed paperwork and handed her off to the nurse. I called them around 12:00pm to see how she is doing. They said she hasn't had surgery yet and

Crazy Costs of Spaying a Kitten

Trixie my female kitten is needing to be spayed really soon.  She will be 6 months old in two weeks.  I am trying to decide where I should take her to get it done. My regular vet charges $125 and this includes bloodwork, exam, medication, IV Fluids, overnight stay and the cone of shame. I thought maybe there might another Vet out there that charges less, but was really surprised at how crazy different the prices are from one vet to another. I was expecting Vets are charging around the same amount, but I was totally wrong. Here is my research: Northland Animal Hospital charges $90 for a pre-surgery exam + $450 (Surgery, Bloodwork, Overnight stay, Medications) + $61(Micro Chip)  Cascade Animal Hospital - $40 Pre-Exam + $333 Surgery + $41 Microchip Kentwood Animal Hospital $250 Surgery + $61 Microchip Red Barn Animal Hospital $200 Surgery + $40 Microchip  Cat Clinic surprised me the most. I was expecting this one to be the $450 but instead, they were $40 pre-ex
