Joan Hunter's book  Love Again, Live Again  discusses the role in God in relationships.  She discusses the importance of putting God in your relationship because without him your relationship won't make it. I am not married or have a boyfriend, but I still found some helpful thoughts about friendships and how to have a great relationship with people. She states the main element in a successful marriage is forgiveness. It seems easier then it is. If you were really hurt such as if your partner abused you it isn't so easy to forgive them. My last boyfriend pushed me into doing things I was comfortable with.  Another problem with relationships is not listening and paying attention to what each other is using, how they stand and speak.
