Greenfield Village Halloween Fun Event

Image
The Greenfield Village's Holiday Evening event is amazing so I couldn't wait for the Halloween Event. I have been to the Village's Holiday Evening two times. There is no words to express how much fun that event is. I have never been to the Halloween event, but if its like the Holiday Event then I will not be disappointed. These events sell out fast so if you want to go you need to get your tickets in advance. You can sign up for the 6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm, 8:00pm, 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm. It seemed you can only be in the park for 30 minutes. I can't walk all of Greenfield Village in 30 minutes. Come to find out they do that so they can spread out the crowd a little. On October 14th at 8:30 pm, a group of my friends and I went to the Greenfield Village's Halloween Evening Event. Parking is a pain. We find if you park in the Henry Ford Museum enterence it is the same distance as if you park in the parking lot on the side of Greenfield Village enterence.  Plus

Halloween Gluten Free List 2018

Recently, I went to the Halloween Night at Greenfield Village. Throughout the park they had treat station which gave out candy. In the hotel, I poured out all the treats I got. Guess what?! All of the candy they gave out I could only have one piece of candy. I am glad I am 32 years old and can deal with the sadness, but if I was little kid I would be crying.  It makes me so frustrated with events like this who don't think about kids with food allergies. There is no reason why they couldn't hand out pencils, pens, history pamphlets about Halloween, Halloween pins etc.  Anyways now that I had my little sputtering. Halloween is a lot of fun except when you have food allergies. I am very proud our society is seeing this and started an awareness program called the Pumpkin Project by putting out a teal colored pumpkin on your front porch. This tells parents the person is handing out non-food items. Our society is slowly understanding food allergies, but it is still easy and

An Unpresentable Glory by Eleanor Gustafson Book Review

Image
MY BOOK REVIEW: An Unpresentable Glory by Eleanor Gustafson is a heartwarming romance with great twists. It is a fiction story that covers a variety of topics such as mental illness, depression, loneliness. Eleanor K Gustafson gives some history on Native American and Latino.  It shows what being a true Christian is all about. Linda welcomes a total stranger who goes into anaphylactic shock. Linda couldn't leave him on his own so she welcomes this complete stranger into in her house. She allowed him to stay until he was recovered.  Without giving out too much information, Linda learns who this stranger is on TV. Eleanor's characters are well thought out and relatable. She showed what kindness, faith and love looks like.  As a reader, I was able to picture each character clearly. What I love most about this book is Eleanor gave an unbiased look into the political scene and it wasn't a preachy faith-based book. I could see her book being made into a Hallmark cha

Orphan Five Week Old Kitten

As many of you know, I lost my best friend Jakie Punkin to cancer in May of 2018 to cancer.   Ever since then I have been struggling emotionally and physically. I just can't get out of the depression. It has been pretty bad.  Two weeks ago, I think my Grandpa from Heaven, sent me this beautiful 4-week old kitten. It was crazy how we ended up getting her.   Three weeks ago, my friend's roommate's mother found a batch of kittens behind her shed.  A couple days later she noticed the kittens disappearing.  The mother cat never came back to get this kitten so the roommate's mother brought her inside and cleaned her up. She was plastered with fleas. The roommate's mother couldn't keep it because of her dog.  My friend picked up the kitten and was going to take care of it until we could find her a foster home. In the meantime, she was bottle feeding her every 2-3 hours. My friend broke down crying because she was so exhausted.

Courageous Women of the Bible Book Review

Image
Award-winning author and speaker Latan Roland Murphy's book " Courageous Women of the Bible"  " empowers women through stories of choices that positioned them for success. She encourages her readers to look beyond their circumstances by laying out ways to develop more courage through scripture. She has her readers look at eleven biblical stories such as  Deborah, Widow with Two Coins, Joel, Abigail, Bathsheba, Samantain Women, Mary, Mother of Jesus, Shulammite Women described, Shunammite Women. As someone who isn't very familiar with the Bible I had a hard time connecting the women from the Bible and relating it to myself without having to do more studying. However, I did find some very inspiring messages such as: "Obstacles are simply opportunities with God by our side." "Own your tomorrow by making your way to Jesus today" -p. 48 There are many great messages in her book. However, I really wish she explained in detail more on the eleven
