Secrets by Beckie Lindsey Book Review

Image
MY BOOK REVIEW Beckie Lindsey's book Secrets takes on four high school students, Mackenzie, Sadie, Tammy, and Krystal. It shows the struggles teens go through. For example, depression, sexual drama, and even suicide. We see the girls go  through spiritual warfare.  Lindsey does an amazing job intertwining all four of these girls experiences together. Her writing was descriptive, vivid and emotional. I could relate a little to these girls. The struggle with demons is real. This is not only a great book for teens but adults could relate and find the book to be interesting. I know I had a hard time putting it down.  It was so interesting reading about the battles of demons and angels. I could see this being made into a movie. I can't wait to read book #2.   I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars.  Purchase book: Click Here  ABOUT THE BOOK Author: Beckie Lindsey Genre: Young Adult Release Date: February 2018 Every girl has a secret she hopes the light will never find-

The Scroll by Miriam Feinberg Vamosh Book Review

Image
MY REVIEW: The Scroll  takes the reader back to 73 AD at the last stand at Masada.  You are taken through a number of generations ending at the end of Bar Kochba in the 130 AD. Miriam Feinberg Vamosh takes you into the constant tension between the Jewish people and the Roman government.  This was an inspiration to him from the divorce scroll which is an actual archeological found in the 1950s.  This tale begins with the failed rebellion against the Roman Empire at Masada and goes through several generations. You find yourself learning about their history and culture. You see the characters struggle to survive.   If you want to learn about Jews this would be a great book to read. For example, how the household was run and how women were treated. This is a "happy ever after" novel, but it sure does pull at your heart. I felt bad for a lot of the characters. I found  The Scroll  to have some really interesting historical information, however, I have a hard time followi

Chosen People by Robert Whiltow Book Review

Image
MY REVIEW As many of you know I have been receiving some amazing books. A few days ago I was  Chosen People  touches on a variety of topics including terrorism, crime, sex trafficking, lawsuits, culture differences, religion, relationships. Robert  Whiltow takes you on the journey of two lawyers, Jakob Brodsky and Hana Abboud representing the Neumann family.  They are hoping to find enough evidence so they can pursue the lawsuit under the US Anti-Terrorism statues. Hana was born in Reineh in Jerulsuam and moved Atlanta to hone in on her legal skills.   The plot has lots of twists some I predicted others surprised me.  There was a good about of backstory and depth to the characters sometimes too much. There was a lot of repeated information. I couldn't help but feel for each character.  However, I found this book to move a little on the slow side and at times confusing. I believe it is because there was a lot lecturing about the differences between America culture

Love Again Live Again by Joan Hunter Book Review

Image
Joan Hunter's book  Love Again, Live Again  discusses the role in God in relationships.  She discusses the importance of putting God in your relationship because without him your relationship won't make it. I am not married or have a boyfriend, but I still found some helpful thoughts about friendships and how to have a great relationship with people. She states the main element in a successful marriage is forgiveness. It seems easier then it is. If you were really hurt such as if your partner abused you it isn't so easy to forgive them. My last boyfriend pushed me into doing things I was comfortable with.  Another problem with relationships is not listening and paying attention to what each other is using, how they stand and speak. To truly want to help another person you need to listen well. In her book, she states, "Choose to stay sexually pure for that special person who is waiting for you. God is preparing their heart just as He is preparing yours." I hav
