My 9/11 Memories and Thoughts

Image
I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this or not but I decided to share my experience.   pictures are by Robert Clark  I was 15 years old when 9/11 happened. My mom and I just got back from Disney World. We were even thinking about staying another night. Thank God we didn't because we would have been stuck down there. Even though we would have been stuck in the magical place everything was closed down so we would have been stuck in Disney's Pop Resort with no fun and full of worries.  Friday, Sept 11, I was watching Good Morning America while eating my breakfast. I was getting ready to start working on my schoolwork. (I was homeschooled at this point in my life). Diana Sawyer and Charlie Gibson. They thought it was just an accident. At 8:46 am an airplane hit the North Trade Center building.  At 9:00 am Regis and Kelly started their show when all of a sudden their cameras shook. You could see the fear in both Regis and Kelly's eyes. They didn't know what happened. The

The Nature of Small Birds by Susie Finkbeiner Review

ABOUT THE BOOK In 1975, three thousand children were airlifted out of Saigon to be adopted into Western homes. When Mindy, one of those children, announces her plans to return to Vietnam to find her birth mother, her loving adopted family is suddenly thrown back to the events surrounding her unconventional arrival in their lives. Though her father supports Mindy’s desire to meet her family of origin, he struggles privately with an unsettling fear that he’ll lose the daughter he’s poured his heart into. Mindy’s mother undergoes the emotional rollercoaster inherent in the adoption of a child from a war-torn country, discovering the joy hidden amid the difficulties. And Mindy’s sister helps her sort through relics that whisper of the effect the trauma of war has had on their family–but also speak of the beauty of overcoming. Told through three strong voices in three compelling timelines,  The Nature of Small Birds  is a hopeful story that explores the meaning of family far beyond genetic

Simone biles Breaks Down Tokyo 2021 Olympics

Image
Everyone was rooting for Simone. It wasn't really fair but the team put all the pressure on Simone. The team knew they could screw up and it would not matter because Simone's scores will be so high.  Jordyn Wieber  This reminds me of what happened to Jordyn Wieber in the 2012 London Olympics. The weight was all on her shoulder because she was so amazing and always nailing her routines. Everyone loved Jordan and so did I. She had so many perfect scores throughout 2011 and 2012. But when she got to the Olympics her nerves got to her. Not only did she have so many people, companies, USA gymnastics, coaches and so on putting pressure on her ; she also put pressure on herself too. This caused her to choke. Wieber, sadly didn't qualify for any of the individual all-around events. She did help the team win the gold medal. This is sort of what is happening to Simone right now.  However, Simone Biles did not do well at the Olympic trials both on day one and day two. She seamed off.

A Lady in Attendance by Rachel Fordham - Book Review

Image
ABOUT THE BOOK Five years in a New York state reformatory have left a blemish on Hazel's real name. So when she takes a job as Doctor Gilbert Watts's lady in attendance in 1898, she does so under an alias. In the presence of her quiet and pious employer, Hazel finds more than an income. She finds a friend and a hope that if she can set her tarnished past in order, she might have a future after all. As Gilbert becomes accustomed to the pleasant chatter of his new dental assistant, he can't help but sense something secretive about her. Perhaps there is more to this woman than meets the eye. Can the questions that loom between them ever be answered? Or will the deeds of days gone by forever rob the future of its possibilities? Rachel Fordham pens a tender tale of a soft-spoken man, a hardened woman, and the friends that stand by them as they work toward a common purpose--to expunge the record of someone society deemed beyond saving--and perhaps find love along the way. 1890s Home

Image
My mom and Val holding up the old photos of the family's relatives We went to their estate sale. The house was so beautiful. The details in this house was beautiful.  I would love to own a house like this. I've always dreamed of owning a huge Plantation house or a Victorian style house with the wrap around porch. Old houses were carefully made with tons of beautiful detail. Houses today suck! You rarely see houses that have details. Houses today look the same. It is sad.  I love Nicole Curtis. She is trying to save old houses mainly in Detriot. We shouldn't take down old houses especially houses made from the 1700s-1920.   I wish I could have gotten more pictures of the house.  Here are the owners of the house. It is sad to see the family let the house go.  Servant's staircase Bathroom window Main Staircase The detail of the main staircase Bedroom Closet Door Original Wallpaper Original Wallpaper Original Wallpaper Origin

ABOUT THE BOOK Former CIA sniper Kadance Tolle possesses a special set of skills and a rare pedigree. She comes from a family of assassins, and by saving Lyndon Vaile's life she risks being found by them. Despite the danger, Kadance feels compelled to help Lyndon discover who is after him--and his research that seems to prove that the Ebola virus was manmade and is about to be weaponized. With shadowy figures pursuing them and a Mastermind watching their every move, Kadance and Lyndon must scramble to stop an impending bioattack at the State of the Union address. But their warnings fall on deaf ears, and it becomes increasingly clear that there's no one they can trust--except perhaps each other. MY BOOK REVIEW I love suspense/thriller books and the cover and description of  Melissa Koslin's new book "Never Miss" looked awesome. I co

$2000 Hoodies & Shoes -- Balenciaga

Image
I recently saw Tori Spelling wearing a Balenciaga hoodie shirt. It was pink. I never heard about this clothing line until Tori Spelling. I'm a huge hoodie girl. I know I probably won't be able to afford this and you know if a celebrity is wearing something you pretty much know it's going to be expensive but I didn't realize it was going to be this expensive. Why is it so expensive? I don't get it. I just don't get it. It's just a hoodie. It isn't even a really cute hoodie. The only reason why I liked it because it was big and the length goes down your knees. I wish I was rich, but even if I was, I probably wouldn't spend my money on it. I would never buy clothing that's really expensive.  Who in their right mind would wear this shoe. It looks so uncomfortable. I bet foot doctors would go insane seeing their patients wearing shoes like this. There is no way my feet would go in it. I mean it's worse than the 1700s- 1900 shoes.  i did buy these
