Book Review On Dance of Shadows by Erica Marie Hogan

MY BOOK REVIEW

I love fantasy books. I was looking forward to reading Dance of Shadows. As I read I found I wish I read the first book of the series first.  I didn't know this was a series until I strated reading it.  I wish I knew it because it caused me to have a hard time getting into the story. I was missing alot of details.  I found the book to be very slow. It took me a while to get into the story, but it could be because I didn't read book one.  

The book is full of actions and drama which keeps the readers' attention. There are so many characters. I kept getting confused on who is who. I wish they had a list of characters and their relationship to each other sort of the like the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" did.  A lot of the characters I found relatable. Each character has a mission. Battles are The story is mainly about good vs. evil.  
We see battles beginning and the suspense of seeing who will survive. 

Another thing I found that took me out of the story is there are instances with dialogue in a different language than English, but there is no translation. 
I some way this reminds me of the Chronicle of Narnia because Erica did a fantastic way of putting biblical principals throughout the story. It isn't preachy. 

You are left with a cliff hanger for Book Three. 

If you are into Fantasy then this book series is for you. Young adults would really enjoy this book too.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

From as far back as she can remember, Erica Marie Hogan loved to write. When she was a little girl she adored make-believe, but gradually her imagination became too big to restrict it to playtime and so, she wrote.

Erica was born and raised for nine years on Orient Point, Long Island, New York. She then moved with her family to Virginia and, finally, to Texas where she now lives. She lives to plot new stories, enjoys a good tear-jerker, and chocolate is her cure for any ailment.
