MY BOOK REVIEW:
Castle on the Rise
isn’t a fast reading type of book. I found it hard to get into the book not
because it wasn’t good, but because I didn’t read the first book so I felt like
I was missing a lot of information on the locations and characters.
The story starts with a fairytale wedding of Quinn Foley and
Ellie Carver who were introduced in the first novel. Laine Forrester, arrives
from the states with her young daughter for her best friend’s wedding only to
run into some surprises. Laine inherit a beautiful manor home by the Foley men,
Quinn, Jack, and Cormac. Lady Maeve
Ashford, an English lady, and Eoin O’Byrne, an Irish Catholic rebel unfold. These three stories mesh very well. The themes
are courage and life struggles.
The previous book took you through three decades in Ireland
starting out in the 1700s. There are many strong women. Kristy Cambron does an amazing
job with writing vivid details without being too much. She puts a lot of
Ireland’s history through the eyes of Issy and Maeve. Each character dealt with
love and life struggles. I would recommend reading this book. I learned a lot of
about the Irish culture.
