MY BOOK REVIEW

This is the second book I read from E.C. Jackson and she hasn't failed me yet. "A Living Hope" takes the reader into the journey of healing and restoring a relationship that has been damaged beyond repair. Jackson does a great job giving perspective on both sides so the reader can get a full picture of the situation. In the beginning, I found it to be a little confusing but as you go further into the book more and more backstory is told.

Sadie Cummings went about making choices that led her to lose her high school sweetheart, Kyle Franklin. She planned on being with him forever.  After two years she decides to go back to her hometown and win Kyle back. Kyle has been focusing on his career as a pastor at his father's church. This is a huge deal.  Sadie really wants to get him back but he has moved on. Sadie caused him so much pain, so why would he want to go back? Can they mend the relationship? or is it finished?

I felt so many emotions when reading this book. I want so badly for both Sadie and Kyle to be happy. Relationships are tricky and can be really messy too. I found both of these characters to be realistic and relatable. I have had two relationships and when it ended it ended. I think it takes a great guy and woman to stay friends after a break-up.  Jackson does a great job of tackling these hard issues. The story is of redeeming love and the power of stepping beyond the past and moving forward. It is also about forgiveness and asking God to help you with forgiveness. Relationships are messy and so is life. Jackson's book is all about love. This is a great contemporary romance novel.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
