MY BOOK REVIEW
"Starla's Christmas Conundrum" is about the life of a Christain music sensation, Starla. This is a cute romance. We are taken right into the peak of her career. She is getting exhausted from all the touring. Her manager doesn't want her to take a break. After a medical crisis, her doctor told her to take a break to get some o she went to a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee during Christmas time. She meets a wonderful man.
This is not a full-length novel, it is part of an anthology. It is available alone. Carol E. Keen wrote this book in the third person. At times we were inside Starla's mind and at other times we are in the manager's mind. The plot didn't have surprises in it. It was pretty predictable. I felt the story was rushed. Even though the plot is predictable it still was an entertaining story.
I found the characters to be relatable. We learn Mason was struggling with similar things Starla was struggling with. In today's society, it is getting harder and harder to depend on people. Just like Starla I have had friends who aren't dependable. Keen wrote well-thought descriptions of the characters in the book everything from the clothing to locations. Keen did a great job in intertwining scripture throughout the book.
This is an easy reader. It has mystery, love and Christmas fun. "Starla's Christmas Conundrum," tells us no matter what happens in life God is there for you. HE has a plan for every one of use. Don't feel bad if you need to step back and refuel.
I received a complimentary copy for this book from Celebrate Lit, this is no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
