The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center is a premier research center for celiac disease in the United States and the world.  I received an article in my email about their a little bit of the research they are doing and what they are starting to find out. The more research we can get the more likely there could be a cure. RESEARCH IN PROGRESS... 1. Evidence that viral infections play a role in celiac disease. The prevalence of celiac disease continues to rise, suggesting that environmental factors must trigger and precipitate the disease. For a long time, it was suspected that viruses might play a role in celiac disease, and more generally in autoimmunity. Thanks to generous donations, we were able to initiate studies and obtain preliminary data that were critical for receiving NIH funding to study the role of intestinal viruses in celiac disease pathogenesis in collaboration with Drs. Terrence Dermody (University of Pittsburgh) and Ramnik Xavier (Massachusetts Gener

Tips on Preventing Gluten Contamination When Grilling

A few days ago I posted a grilling DIY video, I created with my good friend Edward Jay Nelson. These recipes are gluten-free, but I had a reader ask me about grilling contamination. It is a huge misconception that gluten can be “killed” if it’s cooked at high temperatures. This isn’t true. Gluten, according celiaccentral.org, is a particle and not a bacteria so it cannot be destroyed with heat. The only way to really remove gluten is by really cleaning the racks on your grill. You can’t really do this: Phone Rings. You pick it up. It’s your best friend Susie who has invited you to their Fourth of July party. You: Hi, Susie. Susie (a.k.a. Friend): I am so excited you are coming to the party. We are  going to have grilled chicken, hot dogs. You: Do you grill any breaded stuff on your grill? Susie: Steve usually toasts the buns on the grill. You: You need to clean your grill racks completely. It needs to be bleached and really scrubbed.    Susie: What? You: Af

Anna's House Restaurant In Grand Rapids, Michigan has Huge GF Menu

My weekend kind of starts on Thursday thats because I don't have classes on Thursday and Friday. This weekend I spent Thursday and Friday filming for Entertainment For All Network's Youtube channel, a.k.a. my channel. We filmed a gluten-free peanut butter brownie can't wait to get up for you guys because it tastes amazing and it was really easy. Anyways, on Thursday, we took a break for lunch and went Anna's House restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has a fun environment. You step into the restaurant and you go back into the 1950s. They have a couple of TVs on the wall playing the old 1950s classic television shows like  Bewitch  and  I Dream of Jeanie.   There is a wall with a variety of old toasters hanging on the wall. I had a gluten-free Cranberry Turkey Panini sandwich with homemade potato chips. This was so good. It had thick turkey breast, swiss cheese, baby spinach, brown mustard and an amazing cranberry mayo that I ended up asking for extra on the

Second Best Gluten-Free Brownies- Aldi's

I have tried every type of brownies. My favorite brownie is the Betty Crocker's Gluten Free Brownies  but cost around $4.95. I have a second option for brownies. Aldi's Gluten Free Brownies taste amazing and they are somewhat cheaper. These are great it you are going to a church picnic and want to share it with others. These brownies cost around $3.50. If you don't have an Aldi's near you, I'm sorry. I made this video with my mom to show you what it looks like.  Purchase Betty Crocker Brownies at: Betty Crocker Brownie Mix, Gluten Free, 16 Oz

Favorite Cookies

1. Goodie Girl Crunchy Chaos If you like crunchy sugary cookies these are for you. I am not a huge fan of really crunchy chocolate chips until I had these. Goodie Girl Cookies - Crunchy Chaos - Gluten Free - 19 oz Family Pack 2.  Kinnikinnick Kinnitoos Chocolate Creme Sandwich Cookies These remind me so much of Oreos cookies. They are amazing to dunk in milk. They don't get soggy instantly until it hits your mouth. They are good without dunking them as well. They also don't have an unpleasant aftertaste that some brands such as Walmart's brand has. I wish they would start coming up with weird filling flavors that Oreos do such as Mint, Strawberry, Birthday Cake, peanut butter, Raspberry, Marshmallow, Double Stuff. This would make me so happy.  I see all these guess what this Oreo filling flavor YouTube videos and wish I could do that. Grand Rapids Gluten Free Food Fair May 16, 2015

May 16, 2015 at 10:00am-4:00pm is the Grand Rapid’s Gluten Free Food Fair. Usually you have to pay to get in, but the Grand Rapids one is free. My favorite thing about going to a food fair is the samples. I hate it when I spend money on a food and hate it. Food fairs helps save you money. Just be prepared sometimes they run out of samples. Last year they had over 1,000 people come. Life Never Goes As Plan

I don't know why, but lately I have been just so fustrated with life. Why may you ask? Because I am 29 years old and still going to college. It isn't because of my grades because I have been getting straight As. Its because I keep getting slammed with one health problem after another.  I look at jobs that are opening up that I could get if I had a degree. I am not able to work and go to school. What I am terrified is graduating from college and not being able to find a good paying job that works with my health condition. This is my biggest fear! This is because I have collected six years of interest rate on my Chase loan, Sallie Mae Loan, Firstmark and three others which so far adds up to over $109,000. How the hell am I going to pay this?  I only took out $56,900. I have two more years left before I get my Bachlors degree. Going to film school is great, but its alot of hardwork. I am not saying regular business schools, or other degrees aren't hard, but with film you have
